Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2024-03-21T01:50Z ( DSCOVR: PLASMAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
ACE: SWEPAM
ACE: MAG
Activity ID: 2024-03-21T01:50:00-IPS-001 (version 1)
Quality of ICME Signature: -1 (unspecified)
Note: Characterized by an amplification of magnetic field components, with Btotal reaching 14nT at 2024-03-21T02:40Z, and an increase in speed from 316 km/s at 01:50Z to 380 km/s at 06:11Z. A subsequent increase in density is observed from 7 N(cm^-3) at 01:50Z to 30 N(cm^-3) at 03:10Z. This interplanetary shock is likely associated with the arrival of CME: 2024-03-17T03:12Z and/or CME: 2024-03-17T03:36Z. The arrival signature is still developing and analysis is ongoing.
